This project explores the rise of right-wing ideologies on YouTube, focusing on the Intellectual Dark Web, a group of thinkers who strategically appropriate cultural terms, symbols, and artifacts to reshape their meanings. By analyzing the period from Donald Trump's 2017 candidacy announcement to his second presidency in 2025, it investigates how these ideologies use political marketing to distort historical contexts, undermine opposing viewpoints, and impose new ideologies. A central focus is the term "woke," which has evolved from representing political awareness to becoming a pejorative used by the right to mock and disempower progressive ideals.
